Africa Water Aid: Bringing Life-Sustaining Water to the Sanag Region

In the arid and semi-arid Sanaag region of North Eastern Somalia, the constant threat of drought has plagued the lives of its occupants for decades. Poor health care, loss of livestock, and diminished crop yields have become all too common, leaving the people in dire need of life-sustaining water.

Africa Water Aid, a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, was established with the mission of providing access to potable water in this region. By prospecting for water and providing the necessary infrastructure, we aim to alleviate the suffering of the people and bring hope to their communities.

Our operations are centered in the town of Awsane, the birthplace of our founder, who has witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of water scarcity. We work closely with local tribal leaders and elders to identify volunteers who will be trained in water prospecting techniques.

As we discover new water sources, we will provide equipment to these volunteers, empowering them to continue the quest for water in their own communities. By replicating this model throughout the region, we aim to bring sustainable water solutions to the people of Sanaag and give them a chance to thrive.
